Program Description:

Cryptocurrencies, NFTs and Other Digital Assets have taken the world by storm. As topsy-turvy as it all may seem, these technologies are apparently here to stay. IRS doesn’t like or trust crypto activity, so IRS has drawn a hard line in the sand (and taxpayers don’t like it). What do the courts have to say so far about all of the chaos?

  1. Answering IRS’s pesky Form 1040 virtual asset question – How the question keeps changing (again for 2022) – What we must know
  1. The basics of income taxation and estate and gift taxation of crypto
  1. What exactly are “crypto”, “NFT” and other digital assets – How does it all work?
  1. Are cryptomining and staking awards taxable income at the time earned?
  1. The moving target of all-new IRS and FinCEN cryptoinformation reporting rules
  1. The wash sale and constructive sale rules (or the lack thereof) for digital assets
  1. Harvesting (through the tears) digital losses for tax purposes – a/k/a The tax opportunities of volatility
  1. Charitable contributions of crypto– Steps in the process you cannot miss
  1. Tokenized interests in real estate – E.g., The Brooklyn neighborhood renewal project
  1. How  digital assets cause wrinkles estate planning – And how to iron them out

Bewildered by the crypto revolution?

This course makes the taxation of digital assets understandable.
